Hello my host family, my name is Luke. I am 16 years old and in this letter I want to talk about my life. First of all I will talk about my family. I have an older brother working in the military at the moment. He searches for an good opportunity to study something he likes. He comes every weekend to our home where I live with my two parents. I love my family very much because we are a amazing team when we are in difficult situations. We had two budgies in the past but unfortunately they passed away some years ago. My other family members are living near us. I have not the biggest family but I think it is not a big problem because we are helping each other like every other big family. Now its time to talk about myself. When i have to describe my personality I would say, that I am a person who is open to the world. I have some reasons why I think this. I have several hobbies that need social skills and courage. I am a member of the scouts here in Germany. I think the scouts had the biggest impact to my life. I learned and will learn so much with the scouts. Because of the social skills i have learned there I now how to behave in many different situations. Another thing that the scouts teached me, is my love to nature. I love the feeling of freedom when I can be outside. The social skills that i am talking about improved my live massively. I was originally a very shy person who didn't now how to act so that people would like me but on my journey through my live I learned how to communicate and act with people that I would say that I can get on with everyone. Also I am a big fan of any kind of sport and music. It sounds a bit crazy but I can adapt to every sport and music genre. There is only one music genre that I find a bit difficult to understand and that is K-POP. But every other sport activity, event or something else I would not complain. I play also the violin and the recorder at my local music school. I played in the brass band from my school the tuba and the horn. So i enjoy also classical music and i took several time part in " Jugend Musiziert". That is a competition with many young people who enjoy to play their instrument. My music journey were improved this year with the "MJO" its a symphony orchestra out of young people. Another big hobby from me is traveling. That is also the reason why I want to life with you. My biggest trip so far was my trip to Korea. It was the world meeting of the scouts. I was not very sure if I really wanted to to this. But on the last day to sign in for the trip, I said to myself that I have to go out of my comfort zone and experience a one in a lifetime opportunity and it was all the sweat worth it. I met new friends all over the world and saw a country that is on the other side of the world. But to be fair the trip was not always only sunshine and cookies. Our camping side was evacuated because of a typhoon warning. But I am not always without my family on trips. Our go to vacation place is an island at the north sea called "Langeoog". My parents had they wedding there and since that it is our most popular place to be. We also bought a kind of camping van to travel around Europe. Last summer we were in Norway. We traveled from camping spot to camping spot for three weeks. It was a lot of fun because we met some friends from Germany. A little funny fact was that I had a challenge with my parents in which I did the dishes for the entire time we were in Norway. What I learned from all the things I had done that did not worked, that I am not so bad in improvisation. When there is a issue I take it seriously and try my best to improve the situation. I try to learn new skills, like some acrobatic things or how to program easy things but often I want to do too many things and in the end I manage to learn only a fraction from the things I want to learn. A good thing about this little problem is that i try to improve it by concentrating only at one skill at the time. I hope the things that you read today from me are matching to your hobbies, interests and maybe also personality. I am very excited who is willing to let me in his/her life and family.
