Isabela
's Letter
Hi! I’m Isabela and I’m gonna begin talking about my family so you can get to know me better. I come from a very traditional family, my parents (Emilia and Luis Fernando), met about 25 years ago and they have been married for almost 23 years, I also have a sister (Isadora), but she’s currently studying in another city, and two very loved and adorable little dogs.
I live in a good house located in a great neighborhood called “Damha”, here I have a lot of friends which are the best! It’s good to live in the same condominium as them, ‘cause every time I’m free, I call them to do something, we usually swim, eat pizzas, or just hang out in the park.
My school routine is very simple, I wake up at 6am, change my clothes, brush my teeth and then wait for my cab, about 6:40am. After school I have lunch with my parents everyday, but sometimes I have lunch with my friends at a restaurant across the street from the school. After that I come home with my parents or we go visiting my grandma ( ‘cause she misses us a lot *everyday*).
Talking about family, let me say some things about them. At first, my father, Luis Fernando. He’s very friendly with everyone (literally), he does everything for us. He runs a real estate agency with his two sisters, but before he decided to be a realtor (as his primary source of income) he worked as a lawyer since 1994. My mom, Emilia, is the best! She does everything for us as well, even when things are stressing her out. She used to work at a bank since 2002 but from four years to now she’s been working at the real estate business with my dad, and I think she likes it. Finally, about my sister, Isadora (yes, Isa again) she’s 21, we had a time of annoying each other all the time but now we’re besties. We also have two very loved and adorable little dogs, one we bought from a neighbor and the other we adopted from the streets.
Since I was a kid, I wanted to learn English, then, English classes took place of my ballet classes and swimming practice (I couldn’t attend all of them at the same time), that’s why I nether like sports that much nor practice anything, until last month that I got really into beach tennis.
As a dreamer, I want to study hard while I’m young, so in the future I’ll turn into a good professional, earn my money, and travel around the world to satisfy my own interests of knowing some brand new places, cultures, languages…
In 2018 I went outside the country for the first time, I’ve gone to Europe with my parents, sister and grandma, we visited such beautiful historical places. Last year I fulfilled a dream, I went to Disney in Florida and New York, in an excursion to celebrate my 15’s with friends and it was just magical, I cried a lot thinking about how much my mom would love to be there.
I’m really fulfilling a dream by going on this program, so I’m hoping to get the best out of it, like really enjoy everything that I can. I’m also hoping on finding out more about myself, new abilities and new hobbies. In the cultural aspect I’m hoping on learning everything about other cultures everywhere I go and improve my English.
