Dear host family, My name is Manuel, I'm 14 years old and I'm from Spain. I'm super excited for this experience and for meeting you. I've wanted to make an exchange program for a long time, and now that I have the opportunity to live in the United States for a while, I can't be happier. I'm a pretty calm, responsible and organized guy. I like to follow the rules and do things right, but I also know how to have fun. I love sports, especially soccer, which I have practiced since I was little. Whenever I can, I'm playing or watching games. I also really like meeting new people, learning different things and living new experiences. There are four of us in my family, my father, my older brother, my little sister and I. My brother is 16 years old and is also participating in an exchange program. We are very similar in personality, since we both love sports and share many hobbies. However, physically we are different: he is dark and I am blond. In addition, he is a little more outgoing, while I am usually calmer and more reserved. On the other hand, my little sister is 9 years old and is the joy of the house. He loves music and dancing, and he is always singing or moving to the rhythm of some song. Now I'm going to talk about myself, as I said before I'm a very calm child and I really like sports; my favorite is soccer, but another thing that characterizes me a lot is my discipline that benefits me a lot since with discipline I can achieve most things if I make an effort. I am also very respectful and follow the rules that are imposed on me. I prioritize studies a lot but I also take into account things like tidying up my room and housework. I chose the United States because it has always seemed to me an incredible country. Since I was little I have watched many series and movies that made me dream of going there one day. In addition, there are sports there that I would like to try, and I think it is a place full of opportunities and new things to discover. I already had a similar experience in England, where I spent a month in a similar program, and I loved it. I met many people, learned about another culture and lived unforgettable moments. My brother, who is already on the program, has told me that he is having a great time, so I am sure that I will also enjoy it a lot. I'm also very excited to be able to share some things about my culture. I would love to teach you typical Spanish habits, such as our meals, some words in Spanish or even how we play soccer here. At the same time, I would like to learn about your customs and the way you live day to day. I think we can exchange many interesting things. In addition, I would love to do activities together, such as cooking a typical dish from my country, playing sports, going for a walk or any fun plan you make in your family or with friends. I'm sure it will be an incredible experience for everyone.
