Dear my host family,
Hello, my name is Mizuki. Thank you for accepting me as a member of your family. Ever since I visited the U.S. on a school trip, I’ve been interested in American culture and people, which led me to consider an exchange program.
Let me introduce my hobbies. I love listening to music and watching dramas and movies. I hope to get along well with my host family and do activities together, like shopping, traveling, and playing sports. Since I’m very interested in American culture, I’d love to participate in events that can only be experienced in the U.S.
I prefer listening to live music at concerts rather than on my phone or other devices. That’s why I often go to concerts by various artists. My whole family also loves music, and we attend Fuji Rock, Japan’s biggest summer music festival, every year. I listen to many different genres, but my favorite is K-Pop.
I also love being active. I was in the gymnastics club for three years in middle school and am good at various sports. After school, I usually do my homework, talk with my family, or watch movies and dramas.
Now, let me introduce my family. There are four of us: my father, mother, younger sister, and me. My father is an outgoing person who often goes on trips during weekends. He loves Western music and movies. He also lived in New York when he was a child, so I grew up hearing his stories about it.
My mother enjoys camping, and whenever we have a long break, our family goes on camping trips. She also loves anime and manga. My younger sister is interested in astronomy, and whenever we go camping, she always stargazes. Like me, she loves being active, so we often play sports together.
I would love to share Japanese culture with you by cooking traditional dishes and introducing Japanese customs. I’m also good at helping out, so I hope to be useful around the house.
Thank you for becoming my host family. I will do my best to have a great time together!
Mizuki
