Hello future host family! Thank you for considering me as your exchange student. My name is Román. I am very glad to become part of this program, as I think that going abroad for a school year will be a great experience that I will remember for the rest of my life. My main goal for the year will be to learn, understand and integrate in a new culture, that will allow me to grow up as a person. Improving my english and pronuntiation is also very important. It will be very interesting for me to know American lifestyle, in the family environment and at school, where I would like to participate in activities, specially sports. I love playing hanball, I play in a federated club called CD Vallecas. Even when handball is my favourite, I also like playing other sports, like basketball, tenis, soccer, and outdoor sports like skiing. I know that in USA there are some sports not very well known in Europe, and I would also love to try them. I am active, sociable and I have good grades. I have the ability to easily make good relationships with people around me, what can help me to adapt to my new highschool and host family. I will love to explain you things about Spanish culture and way of living, for this, as in Spain food is very important, I am learning to cook Spanish dishes. As I enjoy cooking with my mum and my grandma, I will be able to make some Spanish food for you to try. I am willing to adapt and participate in your daily family routines, even if they are different to the ones I have at home. Having or not pets in the house won’t be an issue for me; we don´t have pets at home, but I love them. I will love to answer any questions about me or my family as requested. I hope to meet you soon!
