Hayato
's Letter
Dear my host families.
Hello, I'm Hayato from Japan.
Since I’m going as a representative exchange student, I’m currently studying Japanese culture and history so that I can both teach and learn from others.
I want to spend time with my host brother and host sister in America, play together, and become good friends! If possible, I’d also love to go on family trips with my host family and make lots of great memories.
On weekdays, after coming home from school, I usually work on DIY projects to improve my room or run small business projects. On weekends, I hang out with my BMX friends. In middle school, I was in the badminton club, but since my high school team isn’t very strong, I’m no longer playing competitively.
Something I’d like my host family to know is that I have three families of cousins, and two of them live in the U.S.—one in Massachusetts and the other in Texas.
I joined this program because I want to become someone who can thrive on a global scale. To achieve that, I believe I need to understand the world. By attending an American high school and experiencing daily life there, I hope to gain valuable insights.
In my family, I have my father, mother, older sister, and two younger brothers.
My father is a thoughtful person and serves as the head of an engineering team.
My mother often scolds me, but we still talk a lot and have a close relationship. She speaks Chinese, Japanese, and English.
My sister and I are also close, and she is very kind. I often talk to her about my study abroad plans and other concerns.
My two younger brothers are close in age to me, and all three of us have played badminton together. We communicate like friends.
I promise that my host family will never have a dull day with me around for a year. Looking forward to spending this year together! I truly look forward to living with you!
Sincerely,
Hayato
