Dear Host Family, Thank you so much for choosing me to live with your family. I am a 17-year-old Brazilian boy who just finished junior high school. I like to try new things, learn about the American culture, and how different the daily life in America is compared to Brazil. I am a very outgoing, dedicated, altruistic, patient, and fun-loving person. I enjoy practicing sports, such as volleyball, soccer and tennis. I also like surfing and skiing when we are traveling. I'm interested in trying new sports, for example, baseball and hockey. I speak Portuguese, and I look forward to becoming fluent in English. It makes me happy to socialize with everyone and be among friends. I started training volleyball when I was 10, and I've been part of my school's team until this year. I hope to join the school's volleyball team in America. I understand that I may not be able to join the team at my school so I am very interested in trying other things and joining school clubs. I think soccer and Carnival are the most well-known parts of the Brazilian culture, but there's a lot more to learn about. I am glad to share the beauty of the Brazilian culture with my host family. I also would like to show my host family some of the national music genres. For example, samba, pagode, sertanejo, and Brazilian funk. Also, I can share how to make traditional meals and desserts. For example, Brazilian barbecue, brigadeiro, etc. My dad is in charge of several stores that sell perfumes and other cosmetics and he also likes to surf and ski. My mom is a full-time mother and she loves traveling. My younger sister is 11 and she is in 6th grade. Our family is very close and loving, and I hope to become part of your family as well.
