LARA
's Letter
Dear family:
I hope you like this letter. My name is Lara and I am very excited about the opportunity to be part of your family during my stay abroad. I would like to tell you a little bit about myself and my interests and my expectations for this experience.
I am from Spain, a beautiful country full of culture and traditions. I live with my parents and my two older brothers, and family is very important to me, I like to spend time with my loved ones either sharing a meal, playing games, watching movies or talking.
I also have two pets, a dog and a cat, I like animals very much. Although I am the youngest at home, I like younger children, I love playing with my cousins and younger siblings of my friends, I like to be in groups where there is a variety of ages, I relate well with children of all ages.
I am passionate about sports, music, movies and reading, and I love playing volleyball, painting and playing the piano. During my stay I would love to get to know your hobbies too and share them with you. I would like to get to know the city where you live and the most common activities you do. Furthermore, I would like to know how it is like to live with neighbors, family and friends.
My goal during this exchange is not only to learn English but also to immerse myself fully in your way of life, I am excited to become an active member of your family, help with the housework and spend time with you.
I would like to be able to help you with all the household chores, accompany you in activities, get to know your way of life and I would also like to show you how we do things in my house or in my country, show you a bit of how I live in my house, what activities I usually do and I would love to show you some games or sports or activities I usually do.
Although English is not one of my main objectives, since, as I said, I am looking forward to the experience, I would like to learn a lot of English to be able to communicate better, I think it is important to be able to understand a culture better and to be able to explain my own culture. English has always been a bit difficult for me to learn in my country, because you don't have to use it much and I only needed it to pass at school, but now I would like to travel and live more experiences, and I think it is important to learn English for that.
Thank you very much for considering me part of your family, I look forward to meeting you and learning more about you.
