Hi, my name is Valentina (I can go by Valen) and I’m from Brazil. I live with both of my parents, my younger brother and my dog. If I’m describing myself, I would say that I’m an extrovert teenager that is very empathetic, talkative and caring. I love being around and spending time people that I’m close with, and, for me doing outdoors activities such as going to museums, parks and restaurants with a good company is extremely meaningful for me. About self thoughts, I am always trying to stick in a positive and realistic mindset, believing in my potential and not letting others change the way that i see myself. About my family, as I said before it is made up by me, my dad, my mom and my brother, and we all get along very well. My mom works in a pharmaceutical industry, as a clinical trial director and my dad works as a lawyer. My parents and I have a very close relationship and we often spend a lot of time together. I also have a very close relationship with my brother, and, even with 4 years apart, we’re best friends. Me and family often do a lot of things together, we love to go in restaurants on the weekends and practice sports. At home, I have French Bulldog named Frida and she’s three years old. I take care of her with my brother, I feed, walk and clean her. I really like having a pet at home. About my house, I live in a big apartment, and I have my own bedroom. I moved to this larger apartment after my brother’s birth, and I consider a perfect place for us to live. Normally, I have a few responsibilities to do, such as organizing my room, helping with the meals, washing dishes, getting up for school, doing my homework and schoolwork, helping doing shopping and storing it, making my own lunch or dinner if needed etc. About my school, I study in the mornings and I’m currently on 10th grade. I go to school every day at 7:20 am until 2:00 pm. In general I really enjoy going to school and I consider myself a hardworking and dedicated student. My favorite subjects at school are Biology, Physics, Physical Education and Geometry. Normally, I have ease in most of my school subjects, especially math related ones. A typical day for me, includes waking up at 6:10, when everyone is asleep, getting ready for school and taking the school bus. After arriving at school I have my classes and go back home. As I turn home, I have lunch and get ready to exercise. I’m a member of a tennis club, and I go almost every day. On the afternoons, after my tennis lessons, my mom picks me up and we go home. At home, I always prioritize my schoolworks, and, if I have a free time, I watch a film or check my cell phone. When it’s dinner time, I help my mom making something to eat. After dinner I take a shower and do my self care routine, that includes hair care, skin care etc. I end up my day reading a book and going to bed. About my hobbies, I’m a girl that loves playing a lot of sports, especially tennis. I play tennis almost every day for 5 yeas now, and, for me playing that sport is very important. I like to spend my free time painting, reading, listening to music and checking instagram and TikTok on my cell phone. I also love watching films, i find it really relaxing. On my weekends, if I’m not playing tennis, I like to hang out with my friends, that are mostly from school. I normally go out with them once a week. My favorite places to hang out with my friends are the cinema, shopping mall, clothes shops and others. As I said earlier, I always help my mom making food, and is something I really enjoy doing, I frequently make breakfast and desserts for my family, like pancakes, cookies, cakes, sandwiches, different types of pasta, lasagna and Italian foods. In general, I have a pretty healthy diet, I often eat a lot of proteins, salads, fruits, carbs and I drink a lot of water. For me, traveling is the best thing in the world, and I’m really grateful that I have the opportunity to travel to a new countries and experience different things. I love meeting new places and cultures, my favorite place to be is the beach or anything with a hot summer beach aesthetic, I find it the most comfortable and peaceful spot. Since I was young, my parents would always tell me how important it is to try new things and experience new situations that are related to understanding different ways to see things. I am extremely grateful for having the opportunity to learn and improve my skills by traveling, which is one of my biggest passions. Being an exchange student, I’m expecting to have a life time experience, which, probably will provide very useful lesson for my future. I’m really excited to experience this exchange on the USA, I’m excited to learn new things, improve my English, meet new people and look forward on a more independent journey.
