Eduardo
's Letter
Dear Host Family,
I hope this letter finds you well. My name is Eduardo, and I am so excited to have the opportunity to spend the next academic year with you in the United States. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and express my gratitude for welcoming me into your home.
I am a Spanish boy currently taking 10th grade at my home town High School. With this opportunity, apart from improving my English, I am very eager to experience life in the U.S. and learn about American culture, while also sharing aspects of my own culture with you. I believe this will be an enriching experience for all of us, and I am looking forward to the memories we will create together.
I enjoy playing any sport and currently, I practice volleyball and soccer in amateur teams with my friends. I also like cooking, bowling, music, playing table games and spending fun time with my friends. I look forward to exploring new activities and making the most of my time in the U.S.
I also enjoy learning and working hard at high school and my 82% average grades support it. My preferable study interest are science, mathematics and engineering classes as I would like to be prepared for the university for architecture, engineering or something related to mathematics. This American academic experience will also allow me to open doors in my future development.
I would also like to talk about my family. My mother was working as assistance in a local pharmacy and my father is working as computer engineer in a multinational company. He also went to the USA in an academic year when he was in high school and the stories he tells me are marvelous. Even If I do not have any brother or sister, I have 14 cousins that we feel like we are brothers.
When I saw the wonderful pictures of my cousins in USA and all the memories they lived there, it made me more determined to go to America and experience it myself. I believe that I can also have unforgettable memories with you and my new friends. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of your family.
Warm Regards,
Eduardo.
