Mika

's Letter

Dear Host Family, Hello! My name is Mika from Japan. I often spend my holidays visiting museums and taking walks. So, I want to visit museums and take walks with you. Also, I want to experience and know American culture. I can play and introduce a Shamisen, one of the traditional Japanese musical instruments, and introduce it to you. So, please teach me a lot about American culture. And through this, I want to know various ways of thinking. To know various ways of thinking will help me achieve my future dream. My future dream is to be an astronaut. The trigger was a thought, “I want to go into space”. But now, I have another reason. It’s that it can be useful in many different areas. Astronauts are useful not only in astronomy and space engineering, but also in biology, chemistry, and medicine. Unsolved problems may be solved through the work of astronauts. I think I want to be such a person. To achieve this, I want to know the universe. Especially I’m interested in the origin of the universe, so I want to know about the latest research at the U.S., the cutting edge of the universe. This is one of the things I want to do in the U.S. Finally, I’d like to introduce my family. I live with my mother, father, and brother. My mother always does the housework for our family. My father always works for our family. And my brother always plays video games. Thank you for accepting me for a homestay. I’d like to help you and your family. I’m really looking forward to meeting you! Sincerely yours, Mika
