Yu Han
's Letter
Dear Host Family,
My name is Yu Han (Lexie), and I am excited to be visiting you from Taiwan. I would like to express my sincere gratitude for welcoming me into your home. This opportunity to immerse myself in your local life and culture means a lot to me, and I look forward to the wonderful experiences ahead, especially the time we will spend together.
While I’m generally outgoing, I tend to a bit reserved when meeting new people. Once I get to know someone, however, I am sociable and open. I’ve always had a vivid imagination, and I am deeply curious about the world and the future. One of my dreams is to travel around the world and experience different cultures.
I come from a family of five in Taiwan: my dad, mom, two younger siblings, and me – the oldest child. Although we have different hobbies and interests, we get along well and enjoy spending time together. At home, I enjoy watching shows, whether they are American, Korean, or Taiwanese dramas. I also love cooking and often make meals or snacks with my mom. Music is another passion of mine, and I play the guitar. I am an active member of my school’s guitar club, where I also serve as an officer, responsible for creating designs and managing our online presence, including posts, stories, and other materials for our club events.
At school, I enjoy subjects like history, home economics, art, and Chinese literature. However, I find math and physics to be more challenging. I am excited to see what classes I will be taking in the U.S. and am looking forward to learning new things while sharing Taiwanese culture with you.
Thank you again for opening your home to me. I can’t wait to meet you all and embark on this amazing journey together!
Warm regards,
Lexie
