Dear host family, I really appreciate you taking the time to read my letter, so thank you. Let’s start with my name that is A.M., but I prefer to be called only M., I’m from Italy. I am so happy that I can finally write this letter and I can’t wait to have this beautiful experience! Now I will talk about my family; we are 4, my mom V., my dad C., my sister A. and me! I also have a cat called Mimmi. In general I love animals, but I prefer cats and dogs. My parents are so funny so we have a good relationship in the house, I love my sister and I have to help her because she has problems and needs me. We live together in a small village in Rome; I like to live here, maybe only one thing that is a little sad and it’s the fact that I’m a bit far from where my friends live, so to get there I have to go by car or bus; the same thing the shops, are quite far away. Now I would like to talk a little about myself in general; starting from the adjectives that describe me most I can say that I am nice, smiling, brave, responsible, kind, adaptable and very curious, so I like to discover and try new things! I think I can be a good friend and a good daughter, helping you whenever you need a hand, and hoping you’ll do the same with me. My days are very busy, I go to school in the morning, some days until 2pm and others until 5pm, for extra classes. When I stay until five for lunch I make myself a sandwich from home. In the afternoon, after school, I do my homework and then go to sport. In the evening I eat dinner with my family, study a little bit more and the day is over. I like changing my habits and getting used to other cultures so that I can have new experiences and meet new people; there is always something to learn from the others, so after this year abroad, I know that I will change many things about me, especially the responsibility. I attend the third year of language school, and as languages I do English, French and Spanish; then in addition to Italian I can also speak Romanian! My parents have been talking to me in this language since I was little so that I learned it, and I am really happy about this. In my free time I am very active, so I try to always find something to do; for example, here in Italy, I listen to music, play with my cat, i help my mum with house work, i help my sister, watch some English videos on YouTube.. but, physical activity is the one I enjoy the most. In the past years I have tried many sports, including dance, gymnastics, swimming, karate, figure skating, volleyball, gym and last boxing, which I am currently practicing and this is the 4th year; when I will be there in America I would like to continue boxing, but if it is too far I would like to go to the gym or try some new sports. I also love cooking foods and cakes; Sometimes I cook lunch for my whole family. In conclusion, I would like to thank you very much for taking your time to get to know me better. I am looking forward to spend a great and unforgettable year there!
