Rong En
's Letter
Hi, my name is Rong En (Joseph). I’m from Taiwan and I’m excited to meet you guys all.
I am very excited and grateful for the opportunity to be a part of your family. This experience is new to me and different from what my family members have gone through, so I understand there might be an adjustment period. I am not always the most open about sharing my thoughts and feelings, but I believe that, as I spend more time in the U.S., meet new people, and adapt to a new culture, I will become more comfortable expressing myself. I would truly appreciate your understanding and support as I navigate my emotions. In return, I will do my best to listen, support, and contribute positively to the family dynamic.
In Taiwan, school typically ends around 4 PM, which leaves me with limited time to explore my interests. My primary hobby during the weekdays is going to the gym, which I have been doing for about a year now. It has not only improved my physical health but also brought me joy and a sense of well-being. I also enjoy spending time outdoors, though living in city limits my access to nature. On weekends, I love going cycling along the river to enjoy the fresh air and scenery.
I am also a religious person, and my family and I attend church every Sunday. I look forward to sharing aspects of my Chinese culture with you, such as our traditional festivals like Chinese New Year and the Moon Festival, as well as introducing you to delicious Chinese cuisine. I’m excited to offer you a glimpse into Eastern culture and traditions.
I truly appreciate the chance to live with you and become part of your family. I am looking forward to the experiences and memories we will create together. Thank you for welcoming me into your home, and I can't wait to meet you all soon!
