Dear Host Family,
I am so grateful for being able to live this dream of mine, and I can only owe this to you guys, who so kindly accepted to have me living with your family.
I am a Brazilian girl, who is currently in the 11th grade. I am a very outgoing, energetic, academic, dedicated, creative and fun-loving person! I have many hobbies and passions, such as traveling, reading, baking, shopping, watching TV, working out at the gym and much more, but what I love the most is going out with friends and family to parties, to the mall, to the beach, to different restaurants… or basically just going out anywhere! I am certainly looking forward to hanging out and going out on many fun dates and places with your family, as well!
Here in Brazil, my life consists of studying and focusing in school and gym during weekdays, and having more fun on the weekends; as these are the days when I usually go to parties, try new restaurants, go shopping or head to the beach. I like my routine because it works on getting me to do well in school, but it's also nice that I can always have this much needed break on the weekends to enjoy my teenage years.
My family is my home! I would be nowhere without all the help my mother, my father and my brother have provided me through these years. We are all extremely close, and they are always there for me; helping me go through the toughest times, and also happily celebrating with me every little achievement of mine. They care to always teach me what is best for me, and they give their best to provide me everything I need to be a happy and healthy girl. I couldn't possibly be more grateful for our relationship and for having them in my life.
Also, I have many friends here, who make me incredibly happy every single day; but there are these 5 special girls whom I rely on for everything! They are the ones who are always open for me to talk with about my personal life, to ask for advice on many things or to hang out with more often.
As a person who has travelled to the U.S. many times, I've always had a fascinating passion for American culture. Since I was a little girl, when I used to watch classic Disney movies and TV shows (such as Liv & Maddie, Jessie, Stuck in the Middle, High School Musical etc.), I've had this huge desire to study abroad in this amazing country, and have a taste of what it is like to be a cheerleader, wear pajama pants in class, have lunch at school, store my stuff in a big locker, grab a Starbucks post class, and all this “stereotype” kind of things that we cultivate in our minds about the American High Schools after watching way too many series and movies.
I truly believe that by attending high school and living in the U.S. with an American family, I might be able to, not only experience all or most of the things I have previously mentioned, but also to dig deep into the realistic daily routine of the American citizens. And really do expect that my love for this country will only grow bigger and stronger, and I will keep my long term and exciting plans to go to an American College.
I am really looking forward to everything I will learn in this experience, and to share my culture with you too. I can't wait to be a part of your family; I have a feeling it will be amazing!
With love,
Isadora.
