Dear host family, My name is Elena, I'm writing this letter because I really want to do this program in the US next year. My brother did it 2 years ago, and I also want live this experience. I live with my parents and brother in Spain. We all have a good relationship and we like doing things together, like watching movies or TV series, playing boardgames, going skiing, cooking or baking cookies and muffins or traveling. I also enjoy hanging out with my friends. We usually go shopping, eating in somewhere, going to someone house and watching movies or talking about our lives, or just seeing each other and go for a walk. I see myself as a sociable, extrovert and cheerful person. I'm also responsible and hardworking with good organizational skills. My friends and family say that I'm mature, empathetic and intelligent. I consider I'm an open-minded person who is not afraid of changes. Regarding my hobbies, I love drawing, baking, going horse riding, and although I don't practice it too often, I enjoy playing volleyball. I'm also into music, I like listening to all type of music, especially Spanish music. I play the cello since I was 5 years old. Although it's hard to combine cello with school, I'm grateful to play this instrument because I volunteer in an orchestra called "En Clave de Dar". We go to hospitals, nursing homes and small villages where people can't listen to classical music easily. So it's worth it playing the cello. If I'm one of the candidates elected to participate in this program and I'm chosen by your family, I'll try my best not to let you down. I'll be willing to share the household chores, obey your home rules, become part of the family and learn from you. I'm looking forward to living this amazing experience because it will broaden my mind and my written and spoken English skills will improve considerably. Been able to know more about your culture, your customs, your lifestyle, studying in an American school, making new friends, and learning from you sound very appealing to me. My dearest host family, thanks a lot for reading my letter and getting to know me a bit better. I hope I'm the one you choose to live with your during the next school year and you are the ones who will give me the opportunity to make my dream come true so I can hold lots of special memories for the rest of my life.
