Dear Host Family, My name is Azzurra, and I can't believe I'm writing this letter. I've been dreaming of the experience of living abroad since I was 12, and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the chance to live with you for 10 months. I can't wait to meet you, to discover how you live, what your traditions are, what you love doing together. The opportunity to integrate into your family makes me really happy, and I feel that it will be a unique chance to build strong and meaningful connections. I’m an eager to learn and openminded person, always ready to learn new things. I enjoy being around people, making new friends, and putting myself in situations that allow me to grow. My friends describe me as a sunny, fun, and selfless. My biggest passion is music: I can sing, play the guitar and piano, and write songs. It’s one of my ways to express myself, and I’d love to make it my career one day. If any of you plays an instrument, it would be amazing to share some musical moments together! I’m a dreamer: I like imagining how things could or couldn’t go, I enjoy believing there’s beauty in everything. I also have other hobbies like reading and cooking: I hope to learn from you how to make some typical dishes from your area, maybe cooking together! Another big passion of mine is traveling. I attend a tourism institute, and this year I was fortunate to win two scholarships: one for two weeks in Seville, Spain, and another for a month in Argos, Greece. These will be unique opportunities, especially to help me prepare for living away from home. Because, although I’m over the moon for my year abroad, I know there will be challenging moments, but I can’t wait to face them with you by my side! I live in a city in northern Italy with my mom and dad, and I am an only child. I have a stepsister, but she is much older than me, and we’ve never had the chance to live together, so, unfortunately, we never had the chance to build a sisterly relationship, but I still care about her a lot! I know this experience will help me grow as a person, not only by discovering new places but also by building authentic relationships. I truly hope that this experience will be a great opportunity for exchange and friendship for all of us. I’m really looking forward to meeting you in person and starting this adventure together. I’m full of enthusiasm for this new experience, and I believe we’ll create a wonderful bond. I hope my presence in your family will be a pleasant experience for you as well.
