Hello, my name is Polina. I was born in Ukraine, but now I live in Azerbaijan. I have many different interests, such as cosplay, design, drawing, and much more. I like to try and start new things, and I hope to discover something new in America. I also enjoy fun activities and different kinds of extreme experiences, such as going to quest rooms. I am interested in video games, though in moderation. I like creating different looks, so I often do makeup. Occasionally, I don’t mind doing sports either. I can speak Ukrainian and Russian, and I hope to learn to speak fluent English in America. Most of the time, I need a little time to get used to a new place, but I adapt quickly and, after that, become very sociable and active. I would love to attend high school in the U.S. because I think it will be an incredible opportunity to learn, not only academically but also to experience American culture firsthand. I am excited to immerse myself in a new environment, learn from diverse perspectives, and grow as a person. Living with an American family will give me the chance to see how people live day-to-day in the U.S. and help me develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of the culture. I believe living with a host family will allow me to build meaningful connections and create lasting memories, and I look forward to sharing my own culture with you as well. Living in Azerbaijan now, I study, go to various additional courses, and, in my free time, engage in many different activities. I like to take part in cosplay contests at festivals. There are 3–4 cosplay festivals a year, and I often spend time preparing my cosplay costume for the event. Apart from that, I also enjoy spending time with my friends. Sometimes we do cosplay together, go to the movies, visit different cafes to try new food, and go to scary quest rooms as a group. During those moments, I have fun instead of feeling scared! Since the sea is very close to the city in Azerbaijan, we like to go to the sea and water parks together in the summer. We also enjoy shopping together, especially picking out cosmetics. There are five members in my family: my mother, father, younger brother, our cat, and me. Even though we don’t spend time together as often as we’d like because my father works and my brother and I study, we still make time to come together sometimes. Most often, we gather in the evening to watch movies or play board games. Occasionally, we visit restaurants, and in the summer, we go to the sea. Our family loves to travel, so we often visit different countries and explore them. We also love spending time with our cat. She is a sphinx, so she is bald, but we think she’s adorable! I study in an online school, but despite this, I have good friendships with my classmates. I also have many good friends from my courses, and we often like to hang out together after class. Looking ahead, I am planning to pursue a career in design. I hope to attend university and continue my studies in fashion or graphic design, as this is something I am passionate about. I would love to create my own clothing brand or work in a creative field that allows me to express myself through art and design. I am also interested in working in the beauty industry and potentially exploring opportunities in makeup or hair design. I am excited about all the possibilities and committed to learning as much as I can to achieve my goals. I'm already excited about this new experience. And I'm already very curious about my host family and America. I hope to gain many good memories, friendships and of course knowledge.
