Dear host family, My name is Pola. Visiting America was always my biggest dream. I live in a big city in Poland in a block of flats with my parents, brother and a dog. My mother is a yoga teacher who has her own studio, my father is a Drilling Chef Advisor and my older brother studies spatial management on a university. We are all pretty busy during weekdays, however we always spend time together on the weekends. My family enjoy every type of art so we usually go to the cinema, theatre, museum or even concerts. We love sightseeing and visiting new places so it's always a big pleasure to travel with them, which we do pretty often. We are always there for each other and I know I can count on them. I always try my best at school. I don't disturb lessons and always take notes. I pay attention to the lessons and do all my work, I really appreciate work of my teachers. I have school from 8am till 4pm. After classes I go out with my friends or just study on my own in my room. I have guitar lessons every Thursday and theatre improvisation classes once a week. I'm also very interested in American culture. I'm a huge fan of music and film industry. I really enjoy rock music, my favourite artists are Nirvana, Hole, Radiohead and Jeff Buckley. I watch all kind of movies but my favourite ones are horrors and coming-of-age. I used to go to the music school where I learnt how to play piano now I continue my music journey by learning electric guitar. I've always been good at dancing which I trained for few years. Every winter I go skiing with my parents and I'm very fond of it. I take big pleasure from theatre and photography. I consider myself a great friend as well as honest and open minded person. I always support my friends and give them good advices or just listen when they need to talk. I never give up even if the situation is hard, I try my best to solve the problem. I communicate very easily and have great sense of humor. I can adapt in every situation and fit into every group. I think I have no problem with making new friends even though I'm not very outgoing. I enjoy other people company but I don't mind being on my own. People say I'm convincing, helpful and loyal. I'm independent and assertive. I feel like I'm a great candidate because I'm very curious of the world. I want to experience as much as possible. I'm very excited to meet new people and learn more about American culture and challenge myself in completely new environment. I chose America as my exchange destination because it's very different from my homeland. I want to experience American high school and improve my language skills. I always wished to visit such an important country and see how everything works there. I think I'd bring humor, positive energy and fresh view on things to the society. I'd love to share Polish culture as I consider it very interesting and important to me. I find connections with Poland and America absorbing.
