's Letter

Dear Future Host Family, I am very excited to write this letter because I know it’s one of the most important parts of my future year in the USA. I can’t wait to join your family and begin this experience! My name is Leonardo, and I am a curious and passionate person. I love learning new things and discovering the world around me. I am constantly seeking to expand my knowledge and grow as a person. This curiosity is one of the main reasons I decided to take part in this exchange program. I want to immerse myself in a completely new culture, learn more about myself, and form meaningful connections with you, my new teachers, and other students. One of my strongest traits is my focus. When I set my mind to something, I give it my full attention. This might make me seem a little stubborn at times, but I believe this determination can be a strength, especially when it comes to achieving my goals. At the same time, I am quite sensitive, and I might come across as shy at first. However, once I feel comfortable, I open up and enjoy making new friends and building relationships. I live in a small village in northern Italy with my parents, my younger brother, and four dogs. I have always loved being surrounded by nature, and animals are a big part of my life. They bring a sense of peace and happiness that I cherish. While my family is often busy with work and other activities, we still make time for each other. Whether it’s dinner together or a rare outing, these moments are very important to me. I am also very close to my grandparents and cousins, who I see often and with whom I share a strong bond. I know I will miss them a lot during my time abroad. At school, I study economics and IT. I’m passionate about technology and programming, and I hope to pursue a career in this field in the future. I enjoy my studies, but sometimes I put too much pressure on myself to get good grades, which can lead to stress. I am learning to balance this pressure, as I know that it’s important to enjoy the journey and not just focus on the results. In my free time, I enjoy exploring new places, especially historical cities and museums. Living in Italy, I have the chance to visit some amazing locations like Venice, Rome, and Milan, which are full of history and culture. I also enjoy cooking, especially trying out new recipes I find online. It’s a fun and creative way for me to relax. Technology is another big passion of mine. I am interested in 3D printing, robotics, and computer programming. It’s fascinating to see how technology shapes our lives, and I hope to continue learning and experimenting with these fields. My typical day starts early in the morning at 5:30 a.m. I get ready, have a quick breakfast, and then head to school. I take the train to my school, which is in a nearby city. After school, I return home around 4:00 p.m., have lunch, and either work on homework or relax. A couple of times a week, I go to the gym, but on most evenings, I spend time with my family and enjoy dinner together. After dinner, I usually watch TV or work on my math homework, which I find very relaxing. By 9:30 p.m., I go to bed, ready to start another day. I hope I didn’t bore you with this long letter, but I thought it was the best way to let you know more about me. I hope you will be my future host family, and I hope to give you 10 wonderful months. P.S. Due to program rules, I am unable to share personal details such as my full name or specific location, but I hope you understand. Thank you for your consideration! Best regards,
