Dear host family,
I am a German girl who’s in 9th-grade. For me, this exchange year is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience American high school life, immerse myself in the culture, and create unforgettable memories.
Before I continue this letter, I want to sincerely thank you for welcoming me into your home and giving me the opportunity to become a part of your family. It means so much to me that you are opening your doors and your lives to me. I’m really looking forward to getting to know all of you, spending time together, and experiencing your culture and daily life. Thank you for making this incredible experience possible!
I am a big family person, I love to spend time with my family. I only live with both both my parents because my sister moved out, which is hard for me because she is the person I love the most, we always laugh together and have a lot of fun. I am a person who loves to have lots of people around.
Me and my family do a lot of traveling not always alone, sometimes with friends of us or my aunt and my cousins and we go skiing every winter. I have two cats, which we named after the Ice cream Ben&Jerry’s and one dog named after one character of the Series Vikings Floki , because he also has dark rings around his eyes.
I am so excited to spend time and bond with y‘all. I am opened for new things and I am very happy to become part of your family and create great memories like traveling with you.
When it comes to school I learn as good as I can because I like to be focused on my goals. A normal school day usually starts at 8 am so I have to wake up at 6:30am. Most of my schooldays end at 3:30pm and after school I am looking forward to do my hobbies, meet friends and do homework or learn for a test.
In my free time I spend a lot of time with my friends, we go on flea markets, go shopping, have sleepovers or just are just chilling together. My friends describe me as funny, smart, a good listener and sweet. I am excited to meet new friends in America and experience so many new things with them.
As hobbies I do swimming and piano, but I am not very good at piano because i just started last year. I am a swimmer since 2020 and I love it but I am looking forward to do new things like dancing or cheerleading.
Thank you for making it possible for me to go on an exchange year and letting me become a part of your family. I am excited to finally meet y‘all!
Warm regards
Natalie
