Dear Host Family,
I am very thankful for the opportunity you have given me to experience the U.S. and the American way of life.
My name is Laszlo, and I am a student from Germany. I live with my parents and my sister in the center of a big city. My mom illustrates books for children, and my dad is an architect at a university hospital. My 19-year-old sister just finished school and is preparing for a year of work and travel in Australia. My older brother, who is already married, works for the police department. Last but not least, we have two canary birds that tweet all day long.
Traveling with my family to different parts of Europe has made me curious about exploring other continents, especially the U.S. Since childhood, I have dreamed of visiting the U.S., particularly because of the high schools shown in so many American movies, which sparked my interest. During my exchange year, I would love to join a soccer or American football team.
I play soccer regularly at a local club in my hometown, take drum lessons once a week, and go skateboarding whenever I have time.
My favorite subjects in school are English, art, and P.E. I enjoy attending my classes and seeing my friends every day.
Because I have been drawing since I was a child, I hope to pursue a creative profession, such as becoming a graphic designer.
For now, I am looking forward to the near future, gaining new experiences in the U.S., and becoming a part of your family.
Warm regards,
Laszlo
