Jesus
's Letter
Dear family, I would like to thank you for choosing me as part of your family during this one-year program in the United States. For this reason I would like you to know a bit about me.
My name is Jesus and I live in a coastal city in Spain with my sister and my parents. I have decided to live the experience of spending an entire year abroad because I believe that living in a family is a great opportunity to learn a language. My father is a telecommunications engineer and my mother is an economist. I have one sister and a cat. I am a sociable and fun person and I am also very polite.
Here in Spain I have a lot of friends. I really like spending time with them. I also hope to make friends in the USA. In my house, my parents have taught me since I was very young to be a responsible and autonomous person who does things without others having to remind them, so I consider myself a responsible and polite person as well.
Now I'm going to talk about my hobbies. I have two main ones: tennis and mountain biking, which I enjoy a lot and I also practice them with my friends. I have other, such as soccer or basketball, but I don't practice them as often as the other two.
One of my new hobbies that I'm trying to learn is cooking, so that when I'll be there I´ll be able to make some of the typical Spanish dishes for you. In USA I would like to practice sports as rugby or baseball which I have never played before.
As I said before, I see a great opportunity to learn English living in a local family, apart from growing up as a person. I think that English, being a language spoken worldwide, is one of the most important languages in the world, both for communication and in my future professional life (computer engineering).
Finally, I would like to grateful that you will let me be part of your family during this program. I hope it will be a great and unforgettable experience.
