Dear Host Family First of all, I would like to thank you your intention to participate in this study program in USA and accept me into your family like another member. Since I am 11 years old my parents suggested me to go to the USA, so I really wanted to live the experience. I have traveled to a lot of countries whit my family, but i have never been to a English speaking country. I am a responsible, calm and friendly guy with a lot of curiosity to meet new people and customs. In my home I do some home duties like setting the table, cleaning the dishes and helping my parents to do the shopping. In my family we are 4. My mother, my father and my younger brother. My mother is engineer in a big company and some days works at home, others go to the office and sometimes she has to travel to other cities. My father works in a electric carsharing company. My brother is 12 years old, and he is on 7th grade and I am in 9th grade. Also we have a kitten 3 years old called Ninfa, and she is not letting me write this letter. In the highschool I have subjects such as math, language, geography and history, music, arts, Physics and Chemistry, and P. E. I'm good at math, history and P.E. I choose theatre like optional subject. We are going to do the play Marco Antonio and Cleopatra by William Shakespeare. Also I am the Class mediator chosen by the class. I like history because my father has the university degree in History, and often teaches me many things that we don't study in class. He wants to teach me some things about American history to know traditions, and culture. I do two sports, rugby and swimming. I go swimming once a week, and rugby twice a week, and some saturdays we have rugby match. I like rugby a lot because there is a good environment and fair play with all the teams. I enjoy a lot the third half whit all my teammates. Also i like to play chess and sometimes I play with my brother or my father. I am in a scouts group since I was 6 years. We meet all Saturdays afternoon. Every two months we go camp on weekends. In winter and spring there are a four days camp, and in summer we have the longest. It is 15 days long. In the scouts I have made some of my best friends. My other hobbies are reading and cinema, now I am reading a Harry Potter book. I like action and adventure movies, also I see a lot of movies with my father. My father likes cinema and sometimes we watch movies from the 80s, or even older, some of these in black and white with actors that he says they were very famous a long time ago, like Charlie Chaplin, Gary Grant, John Wayne. He likes western movies a lot. During august usually we go to a second home in the countryside, in a mountain area, near the beach. There we join with cousins, grandparents, uncles and aunts. All of us are fifteen. I have five cousins, I am the oldest and my cousin Greta is the youngest, she has eight years old. This is the best time of the year. My family likes to travel. Last year we went to Japan. We were at Universal Studios in Osaka, Tokyo, a city full of lights, and Kyoto more traditional and historic. My brother enjoyed it a lot because he likes manga comics, however I prefer the Marvel ones. We tried many Japanese dishes and liked them very much. My favorite food are pizza and pasta, also I like meat. Normally I eat everything and I try cook, but I need to practice more. I would like go to USA not only to improve my English, but also to live the experience, meet new people, see new places, other ways of living and growing as a person.
