Aurèle
's Letter
Dear host family,
My name is Aurèle and I live in a small village of 280 inhabitants surrounded by large forests that allow me to have regular contact with nature. My parents, Fanny and Guillaume, are married. I have an older sister and an older brother who is 18.
Every morning, I take the bus at 7am with my brother to go to school. I start my classes at 8am in the morning and usually finish by 4pm in the afternoon. Then I have handball practice twice a week, and then a game on the weekend. I have been playing this sport for 8 years, it has allowed me to discover incredible people and helped me develop physically and intellectually.
Indeed, thanks to the regular practice of this sport I have a good physical health and I was able to develop an unbroken solidarity with my team.
I hope that in the United States, I will have the chance to discover new sports. Since I was a child, I have also been involved in other sports with my father, brother and friends such as cycling, running, climbing, skiing and diving.
What I also like is to stay at home quietly to read or play video games. Since I was little, I read a lot, at the beginning of comics including Tintin or Lucky Luke written by French authors and then with time I started to read science-fiction novelsfiction because this literary genre allows me to invent my own characters and images.
I also spend a lot of time playing cards with my grandparents when they come to see me or with my sister when she comes back from Paris where she studies graphic design.
I like to be with my friends and meet up at the weekend in a gym to watch or play sports. We go to movies, restaurants. I am sociable, patient and generous. I do not like injustice and I am a mature and respectful person. I feel as comfortable with people my age as adults and children. Solidarity and kindness are important values for me.
Today, I am very happy to come to the United States to study and join your family for this great adventure.
Thank you.
Aurèle
