Dear host family, Thank you very much for being willing to host an exchange student in your home. Hopefully it will be me - I would really appreciate it. My name is Jana and I come from a small village in Germany. I really like to explore the world and get to know new cultures and people. That is why I would like to spend this year with you in America. I enjoy hiking, traveling, skiing and spending time with friends and family. I am a member of a traditional German dance club where I always have a lot of fun. I also enjoy cooking and baking. I have an older sister with whom I get along very well. We do a lot together, for example to eat out or go shopping. We also have a few pets, which I really enjoy, because I love animals very much. We have two cats, two sheep and four horses. I love traveling with my family. I am ambitious at school and I am learning two languages: English and French. Later I would like to become an architect. During my year abroad, I would like to experience the school spirit and get involved in high school. I hope to have a great time with you and become a part of your family. I would like to learn a lot about your life together and your culture and also show you some of the German culture. I love being in nature, but it is not a problem for me if I can't hike or ski with you, as I see it as a great chance to try new things and find new hobbies. I am a vegetarian, but it would also be no problem to stop this diet for this year. I'm looking forward to my year abroad more and more every day and can't wait to get to know you.
