Dear host family, I am Sélane and I'm from the Netherlands. Since I was a little kid I've dreamed of going to the United States. I would like to go to an American highschool, because it's very different than a highschool in the Netherlands. I think it will be interesting to experience new things like to way of living, learn more of the language and the culture. My interests by living in a host family are that I want to develop my independence and to get know the real way of living in the United States. I live with my dad Sjors, my mom Judith and my little sister Isaura. We also have a dog named Mike. My hobbies are dancing, going shopping with my friends, listening to music, baking, watching movies/series. I have a big passion for skiing. What I like most about it is the freedom you have, being in nature and I love when it's snowing because we don't have that in the Netherlands. I also love to go iceskating, going to the beach and my favorite holiday is the summer break. Now I am going to tell you more about my future plans. I love going on holiday and seeing the world. Traveling is something I want to do when I am older, so I would like to combine my work with traveling. I think this experience will help me to achieve that. I'm very gratefull that this opportunity is giving to me and that you help me to make my dreams come true and giving me a chance to exprience how life in the United States is. I want to tell you something about a schoolday. I bike to school everyday, it's a 35 minute drive. My favorite subjects at school are French. English, history and sports. At school I love to hangout with my friends. We talk, laugh and do things together a lot. We also love to hangout after school and go to the mall.
