Dear host family, this is me: I am Meike. First of all thank you for giving me a chance to live with you in the USA. I´m really happy that you chose me. I was born in Germany and right now I am finishing my 10th grade. My friends see me as an honest, kind and loving person. They also think that I am a good secret keeper and someone who you can have fun with. I always help my family in the household and I love to bake and cook. My Mom likes reading and loves to ride the bike, she works in the employment office. My Dad is an engineer and also likes to ride the bike plus to do rowing on the rowingmashine. My older sister did her exchange year in the US in 2023 and she is a passionate archer and loves watching movies. Since I was ten years old I had played many instruments over the years like the guitar, the trumpet and right now the piano. I like to go to the cinema with my friends, talk and go shopping. I am afraid of heights and my dream is to travel the world. Here in Germany my life is pretty simple. In school weeks I usually wake up at 6:00 am and eat breakfast with my family. After that I get myself ready and me and my sister are walking to the busstop to take the bus to our schools. Since we live in a small village we have to switch the bus often until we arrive at school. When I switch the bus I often meet my friend in the bus and we drive together. In school I hang around with my friends, talk and of course study. School ends at 1:10 pm but sometimes I have more classes a day so then I will be at home 4:00 pm. After that I usually do my homework and go for a walk. On the weekend we sometimes are going to visit our family which lives far away or we just stay at home and I study, help my parents or play with my sister something on our playstation. Often I also meet friends and we visit the cinema or the swimming pool. I don´t really know what I want to do after school but I do like reading and writing, so maybe a journalist would fit me. Something where I can live in a bigger city maybe. I want to live in the USA to know what the culture is like, to make new long lasting friends and a good and lasting relationship with you, my future hostfamily.
