Hi, I’m Jana, first of all I would like to thank you for reading my letter and for being willing to participate in the exchange program and making my dream come true. I live in a small city in the north of Germany near a big city. I live with my family in a beautiful house with a garden. I live with my family, my dad Stefan, my mom Julia, my sister Malia and our dog cooper. My sister is 12 years old and our dog is 6 years old. Both of my parents work in the field of IT management. At the moment I’m going into grade 10 (Sophomore) and my favourite subject is science. In my free time I like to read, listen to music, meet friends or doing different sports. On two to three days a week I’m playing Handball. At home I have several things to do like doing the dishwasher, walk the dog and I’m responsible to keep my own room clean and tidy . What I find fascinating about the USA is that, in contrast to Germany, everything is so big - the vast landscapes, the metropolitan areas, but also the stores. :-) Various stories from friends and acquaintances about their stays abroad in the USA sparked my interest in a year abroad in this country. Of course, movies and television have also contributed to my curiosity and I am looking forward to gaining my very own experiences. I’m exited for so many things I get to experience this year and I’m so happy that I can share a lot of it with you. I’m not just looking forward to the big experiences, I’m also looking forward to those little things like eating together or just talking about our days. I hope I to learn so much from you and get to know your culture, your favourite activities and everything else. I’m so excited to get to know you and for our first call or massages and also to see you the first time in real life. See you soon, Jana
