Dear future host Family! Hello from Germany. My Name is Theodor. Thank you for being willing to participate in this exchange program and accepting me to live with your family. I’m a German boy and go to 10th grade in a typical German High School. We are a family of four and with a cute little dog named Toffi. I have an older sister. Her name is Emilia, she also spent a year abroad and loved it. My father is a chemist, and my mother is a food chemist and a Lawyer. So, you might imagine that during family meals we talk about all different topics. I like to try out new things and want to explore the world including America. I want to learn about the American culture, experience the American High School life and would like to become a part of your family. I’m a very outgoing, creative, funny person who loves sports. I enjoy nearly every kind of sport for example badminton, table tennis, tennis, soccer, bowling, fitness, hiking and swimming. I also go skiing with my family once a year. So being active in nature makes me happy. But I also like reading fantasy books. I enjoy going to school very much. My favourite subjects are Physics, Chemistry, Math, Biology and PE. I’ve been playing basketball for about 2 years and I like it very much. Maybe I can play basketball at my US High School too and join a sport team. But I’m also very interested at trying out new things like baseball or American football. In my free time I like meeting friends, doing sports or relax by reading a book or playing at the computer. I also enjoy going to our local gym with a friend after school. My family is a really big fan of traveling. During holidays we often travel together to different countries and explore the nature, cities and culture. When I’m older I hope that I’m able to travel by myself or with my own family and maybe visit Australia, because I’ve never been there. I like physics at school very much and therefore think about studying physics one day and then get an awesome job at a big company. I hope I could give you a first impression of myself. Spending a year abroad and visiting an American high school is one of my dreams. I would appreciate it very much if you would welcome me to your family and help to make this dream come true.
