Dear Host Family, First of all I hope you’re doing well. My name is Sanah, and I am very happy to write you this letter. It’s been 3 years since I’ve wanted to do an exchange year, and now my dream is coming true ! I can’t wait to know you well and I hope we can create an beautiful relationship. I am going to tell you a few things about me to start. I’d describe myself as a polite, open-minded, funny and friendly! Even if I am friendly sometimes I might be shy. My favorite color is pink. I am a huge fan of Spider-Man and Harry Potter. I am a muslim so it means that I don’t eat Pork or Meat unless it’s Halal. But obviously it’s not a problem for me not to eat meat at all, I can eat as if I was a vegetarian and cook some of my own meals. But except all of that I am not very difficult with food haha. Obviously it’s not because I am from a different culture and religion that I won’t respect yours. I love eating sushi, cheese, pasta, fruits, cookies… My favorite drinks are Oasis or Bubble tea but the best of all for me is water. If I want to become a High School student in the USA with a host family, it’s because it has been one of my dreams. I want to discover a new country, new habits, new hobbies, new people and a new way to live. It is called an exchange year because I would also love to make you discover my country’s food, my country’s culture etc.. I would like to have a place into a family with whom I feel comfortable and at my place. I will do everything for it to be one of the best years of my life. In my home country, I have very good relationships with my family. I am really close to my mom and dad. I have 2 little sisters by my dad’s side and I love them so much, their names are Hafsa and Norya. I am very close to my grand parents and I love passing time with them. Even if I am going to miss my family more than anybody else, I can’t wait to meet my future host family. I have a lot of friends that I love and that I am gonna miss too ! Sometimes I stay with my family or I can go outside with my friends because I love passing time with them. But sometimes I like to pass time alone to recharge my social batteries. I have 2 cats that are just adorable, they are called Tokyo and Sangoku because my step-dad loves DragonBall.I’d love to take them with me lol. At school I learn French, English and Spanish. My favorite out of all the subjects that I study are English and Economic Sciences. I think that I like school because I see my friends and that it’s not so hard for me to have good grades. When I’ll be older, I think that I’d like to work in the International Trading. I am not very sure for the moment, so I’ll probably know when I will be older. I love to read romance books or to read at all. I also love to play video games such as Spider-Man on PS5 and Animal Crossing on Nintendo Switch. One of my favorite thing is to watch movies and series. My favorites series are The Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl so it would be a dream to visit New York City. My favorites movies are Spider-Man No Way Home and To All the Boys I’ve loved Before. I also love watching Youtube, my favorite french Youtuber is Michou. I don’t think you know him but he’s very good! One of the things that i like is to cook and bake, I really enjoy it. I love baking a bit more than cooking because I love sugary food. I am pretty good at it so I will be able to make you discover some of my country’s food! I love to travel and I have already visited Algeria, Greece, Egypt, Indonesia and a lot more. I love to take pictures so I can capture a moment to have it with me for the rest of my life. Finally, the most important part to me is to thank you, my future host family. You can’t imagine how grateful I will be if you choose me and let me pass these months with you.
