ANNA

's Letter

Dear Host Family, First of all, thank you so much for welcoming me as a part of your family for a year. I am really looking forward to spending time with everyone and experiencing life in America. Let me introduce myself. My name is Anna. I enjoy outdoor activities like surfing, hiking, skiing, and camping with my family on weekends. I also like to relax at home by watching movies, reading, and getting enough sleep. I hope to do these activities with my host family in America. I have a habit of cleaning the entrance of my house every morning. Because I believe it brings positive energy into the home. If you'd like, I would love to continue this habit in America and bring good vibes to your home. I am currently practicing Japanese cooking, so I would be happy if you could enjoy some Japanese flavors with me. I pay close attention to those around me. For example, if someone seems sick, I try to support them to make them feel better. I also help cheer people up if they are sad. I want to make my host family feel comfortable with my kindness. My school has many interesting people, and I respect them because we can affect each other and grow together. So that’s why I like my current school. I enjoy going to karate practice three days a week after school. On weekends, I spend time with friends, and family, and sometimes alone. I enjoy going to the movies, shopping, and cafes with friends. I have a family of four: my dad, mom, younger brother, and me. My father enjoys surfing and running every morning. My mother has been practicing yoga for a long time. My brother is on the basketball team and loves games and anime. We share hobbies and have a close family. I chose to join in this program because I believe it will help me with my future dream. I want to become a midwife and help people understand the importance of life and mental health care for mothers and children. To do this, I need to improve my English skills, which I think will happen by living with an American family. I also think living in America will give me a new view of the world. I think it’s important to have a broad view because it helps when interacting with different people in the future. I’ve heard American high schools have lots of chances for presentations and discussions which will help me develop good communication skills. I believe that my high school experience in America and living with my host family will be valuable steps toward reaching my dream. Thank you for choosing me to live with among many exchange students. Anna
