Hello, I’m Felipe.
I have traveled a lot with my parents - in the USA, we have been to Alaska, California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Wisconsin, Idaho, Washington state, Florida, New York, Connecticut and other states. My parents love renting motorhomes and going on roadtrips in the US, so I ended up loving the United States too, and that's why I want to spend my exchange student year there. But, if I get accepted in the exchange student program, it will be my first time out of Brazil without my family for more than a month, and I bet it's gonna be very scary at the first moment, but I'm sure I'll adapt to that, because I understand a lot of english – I’m not fluent, but I'd say my english is at least decent.
I wanna make it clear that I'll do everything I can not to annoy you or interfere in your issues. I’m also planning on joining a lot of extra curricular activities on school, if possible, maybe a debate club, wrestling and even trying American Football (even without knowing much about it).
On my free time and weekends, I love to play board games, video and computer games, when there's a new movie I'm interested in, I go to the cinema (I've watched a TON of movies) and go to the gym when I have extra time. Some of my favorite foods are Pizza, Hamburger and meat in general, I also don't have a big refined taste for culinary so I just eat what people place on the table, whatever it is. I'd love going out with friends if possible as well.
I'm very excited to be able to participate in all those clubs, try different sports, go to
Halloween, Prom, to celebrate Thanksgiving, the 4th of July and all the other things like that you celebrate in the USA and we only see in the movies, because we don’t have that in Brazil. It looks fun, and I love to see how patriotic the American people are!
Making friends in the town where I'll be living would be cool as well! I couldn’t imagine living this whole year there without making any friends - I hope I'll be able to make some friends and that will surely lead to me being more included in such events I just mentioned.
I would love to be placed in a state in the north, so we'll hopefully get some snow, which is something we don't get to see in Brazil. It would be great to have a white Christmas!
Thank you for your time,
Felipe.
