Dear host family,
My name is Leni and I am very excited to meet you.
First of all I want to thank you very much for giving me the chance to live in the USA for 5 months and that I can be a part of your family. I'm already very excited, but I think we'll have a great time together.
I live with my mom, my step dad and also with my little sausage dog in a little city in Germany. We life here in a house with a garden. I love to spend time with my family and we love to travel.
My school is a gymnasium and I go there every day by foot. It’s very close to us. It’s an all-day school, which means that we have school there until 3 o'clock in the afternoon. As a result, I sometimes have a lot to do in the afternoon. When I'm with the horse, I usually take longer because I always take a little more time to clear my head from school. I love talking to people at the stable or even going out with them.
In my free time I often meet my friends or do sports. I go four times a week to ride my horse and one time to play tennis. I play tennis with my best friend. She is even my neighbor and I can walk through my garden into hers. We have known each other since we were babies and have already experienced a lot together. In winter time I go skiing almost once a year with my family. We have a second residence in South of tyrol, which is part of Italy. Do you also travel a lot?
The apartment is located in the mountains. Therefore we also go hiking in the mountains or we go on long tours with our e-bikes. During the Easter holidays, we often fly further away to countries where it is mostly too hot during the summer holidays. This year, for example, we were in Thailand. We´re togehter very often. But sometimes I'm also alone. Last year I went to Spain with 2 friends and this year I'm flying to England. Of course, you can't compare this to half a year, but I've never had any problems being away from my family for a long time.
Due to the fact that I am always very positive and open to everything, I believe that I will quickly find friends and connections. I'm really looking forward to seeing you and I'm really looking forward to it. I chose the USA because I've never been there before and I think it's a great country. I've only heard good things about it so far and people are also supposed to be super friendly. I would also like to experience the life of a high-school student and have a great time with you.
I can't say how grateful I am to you and how much I'm looking forward to you :)
Leni
