's Letter
Dear Host Family,
First of all, I would like to thank you for reading my letter and giving me the chance to take part in the exchange program.
Now, I am going to tell you something about myself. My name is Hailey and I love dancing, being with my friends and listening to music.
I am a very open minded person, I’m outgoing and I love trying new things out. Also, I am very polite and know how to interact with people in a respectful way.
One of my favourite things to do is listen to people and talk to them myself. I love having a deep talk as much as I love the fun conversations I have with my friends, which don’t necessarily make sense or have an actual purpose besides laughing and spending time together.
As for my hobbies, I love dancing and jogging. I go jogging three times a week, for example at the gym. I also do it in parks and the town I live in. I like to swim pretty much since I was swimming in a club for years and only stopped last year. I would like to start cheerleading for I was quite interested in it but never really had the chance to in Germany, so I want to try it out in the US.
I would also like to tell you a bit about my family. My parents are divorced and both have been remarried by now. I have a brother whose name is Tyler and he is a year younger than me. I also have a stepsister named Amira, she is the same age as me, and a little half brother at the age of four who is called Juelz. They’re both children of my father, and there is also a small cat called Milano. I spend a lot of time with my siblings. For example, I’m helping Tyler with his homework, my sister and I share the same interests and the youngest one is just too cute to not to be around, so I play with him a lot.
I will now explain to you, why exactly I want to go to America. My parents and I travel a lot so I’ve been first to America when I was about two years old. I fell in love with everything about it since it’s such a different culture. I love how different it is from Germany. All the different kinds of series and movies I have watched romanticized the thought of America even more, so that was another reason why I wanted to visit it. I have been learning English for a very long time now, so I pretty much believe my skills will come in handy. My parents took my education on this topic very serious, so I started learning English with a private tutor when I was in kindergarten around the age of two. After that, I went to a bilingual primary school and now I still attend to bilingual classes.
So I am grateful for you being my host family. I really appreciate it and I am happy to be given this chance.
Yours, Hailey
