Dear host family, My name is Zoe and I am French. I live in the north of France with my parents and my twelve-year old little sister. Thank you for welcoming me into your house and in your family to give me the opportunity to spend a year in the United States. Doing an exchange year in the US is a dream that I’ve had for about two years and thanks to you my dream will become true. This experience will be very valuable for me because I will meet new people, see new landscapes and learn a new culture and it will enable me to improve my English. Thanksgiving is a celebration that we do not have in France which is part of the American culture, I am very curious about how you celebrate it. I would like to go to a prom like we see in American movies and wearing a pretty dress. I will share the French culture with you such as the French cuisine, because I like cooking meal and cakes. My family and I like sharing good meal. I could cook you French crepes for example. I love travelling with my family, I have already been to five different countries. I have only been once to the US, to New York. Speaking English will help me to travel in the world when I am an adult and maybe for a future job, but I don’t have a career idea for the moment. I also like reading, singing, doing shopping. I like fashion. I also like watching TV and movies. I have a sewing machine but I don’t know how to sew very well, I have already made simple little things. I’ve done piano lessons for four years when I was little. Even though I can’t really play, I still like doing it and listening to it. I practice track and field and what I prefer is running. I really like animals. I have a little dog that I like a lot and my grands parents have a dog too. I can ride a horse a little bit but I’m not very good at it. When I am at my grandparents’ near the sea I love watching the sunset on the beach. That is so beautiful ! I am close to my parents and my sister. Every day we try to have dinner together because we talk together, share our day. We do a lot of things together. With all my family we meet to celebrate birthdays, Christmas, Easter for example. My family and my friends are important for me but I also like having moments to myself to read, write… I am shy but when I know the people I can be very talkative and funny, I am also open-minded .
