's Letter
Dear Host Family,
I really appreciate that you want me to live with you and that you want me to become a part of your daily live.
My name is Antonius and I am a boy from Germany. I am in 9th grade (in summer going to be in 10th grade). I like travelling and adventuring new things. Since 2020 I have been very interested in the US. I like the nature and cities, the suburbs and culture. I would love to go on an exchange year because I want to live in the US, learn more about American culture and - of course- I would like to visit a typical American High school.
I love sports and music. I have a lot of friends and I wish to speak English fluently. I am a very open-minded person who likes to discover new things and who is always happy. I hope I will be able to continue going to the GYM. I also produce my own music as a hobby DJ.
I have been playing the trumpet for 3 years, the piano for 10 years and currently I teach myself how to play bass. I have been playing American Football since the end of 2022 and maybe I can play for my own Highschool team and support them.
My dad is a lawyer and works for a small German Law firm. He loves riding the bike and is very interested in classical music. My mom is an art historian and is currently self-employed. She loves travelling around. I do not have any siblings or pets.
I would love to share my German culture and habbits with you, my future Host Family. The most important things in the German culture are the language and custom festivals like the Oktoberfest or the Saint Nikolaus Day which are maybe not very common in other countries.
Another thing I would like to show my Host Family are German dishes like Schnitzel or Kartoffelpuffer.
I wanted to go especially to the US because I like this country and I also got distant relatives over there. As I heard, most Americans are very nice and kind. On my first time there, I really felt this spirit. What I would like to learn in the US is the American way of life in general and the daily life over there.
I am looking forward to meeting you!
Kind regards,
Antonius
