's Letter

Dear host family, Thank you so much for being willing to participate in the exchange program and giving me a chance to realise my dream. Thank you also for accepting me in your family. I am a french girl who lives near Paris, the capital of France. I am an academic, fun-loving and introvert person. I enjoy reading books, such as romance novels and listening to music. They're both my favourite things to do, as an introvert person who loves to spend time at home. My favourite book ever is 'Binding 13' by Chloe Walsh and my favourite artist is Taylor Swift. Another thing I enjoy a lot is going to concerts. I've been to the Eras tour with my mom and to the Guts world tour with some close friends of mine. The next artist I'll be seeing is Gracie Abrams, with my best friend, and I look forward to it!! I speak french and english, and a bit of spanish, even though my level in spanish is an academic one. I'm not bad at english and I look forward to becoming fluent at it. Even if I'm not a sporty person, I'd be more than happy to participate in a sportive activity in America, to integrate in a high school and make friends. I just finished my sophomore year in a public high school in France, and I'm about to start my Junior Year. My best classes are mathematics and english. During my sophomore year, I made incredible friends, and I realised more than I ever did before, that I wanted to go through the process to become an exchange student in the USA, even if during this year, I also met people that I know it'd be hard to leave. But I'm willing to leave them, if it makes me realise my dream. I'm not playing any sport this year, because Junior year is an important year in French high schools, since we have some difficults exams at the end of the year. I'm also not a very sporty person, as I said before. But a few years ago I practiced gymnastic, which is a sport I loved, and still love. That's why that if the opportunity is offered to me, I'd love to join a gymnastic or cheerleading team during my year in the USA. I understand that I may not be able to join any of those teams, which is why I'm also very opened to join another sport team, or school clubs, because, to me, it's a very nice way to bound with people and create friendships. My father works in the town hall, for the mayor while my mother is an entrepreneur in baby products. Although they've been divorced for more than ten years, and are both married to other people, they're still very good friends, and talk to each other very often. I have two older brothers, who are each 22 and 19 years old with whom I'm not very close and a step brother who's 18. I have a step sister, who's a year younger and just started high school. She's basically my best friend and has been my sister for almost ten years. Two years ago, my baby step-sister from my mother's side was born, and she's been a ray of sunshine ever since. My family is a big one, but is also a very close one, whether it's my mother's side, my father's side or both of them together; They're the people I'm the most afraid to leave, but they're also the people who believe the most in me, and in this project. I hope to become a part of your family as well, wheter it's a big one, a small one, or anything. I grew up in a small city in France for my whole life. I've never moved out but I always knew I wouldn't stay here my whole life. I knew I wanted to leave this city and move abroad since forever, and the United States of America have always been my dream country to live in. I travelled to the USA once, for my fifteenth birthday. I went to New York, and ever since I have been sure I wanted to spend my life there, and not in my small town. For the few days I spent there, I had another side of me, a side that was much happier and free. That's partially why I want to be an exchange student, to see if the country is made for me, during a long time, and by living with an american family, I think it'd be one of the best way to find this out. I think French history and gastronomy are the most important part of French culture, and i'd be more than glad to share the beauty of the french culture to my host family. I also would absolutely love to show my host family french food, since the french gastronomy is absolutely awesome and one of the best in the world, to me. And since I'm not bad of a cook, I would love to prepare french meals to my host family. I believe that when I will go the the Unitate States of America, it'd be the best experience of my life, and I hope my whole life's dream will be as wonderful as I always imagined it to be. I also wanted to thank you for taking the time to read this letter, and, maybe taking me as your host kid, and helping me realise my dream. Warm Regards, Prune
