Dear Host Family,
My name is Jens, I was born and raised in a small town in the Netherlands. My family would describe me as a creative, smart, polite, friendly and social boy. I'm a bit of an introvert, but I am communicative.
I know a lot about outer space, and I like to use some of my free time to learn more about outer space.
Furthermore, I live with both of my parents, my younger brother and our dog. My dad is the owner of a company in foot care, and my mother works with students. My brother goes to the same school as I do, but we are two grades apart. He is a dedicated soccer player.
In the summer I like to go kite surfing with my father and brother, and in the winter we like to go to Austria to go snowboarding. In the daily life, I play hockey with my team, and soccer with my dad and brother. When I finish my schoolwork, I like to play video games with my friends or play board games with my family.
At school, my favorite subjects are economics and history. I am a serious student who pays attention during the lessons, but I don't ask questions very often. This is because most of the time I think I can answer these questions myself. I am younger than most of the students in my grade, this is because I skipped a grade in primary school.
I would like to go to America for 3 main reasons, I'd like to learn more about the American culture, more about the English language and to develop myself. It would be a dream come true to live in America for a year, I think I'm going to miss my family, but I am certain that I'm going to create unforgettable memories with you, my host family.
I'm looking forward to meeting you!
Warm regards,
Jens
