Dear American Family, My name is Hamad, and I am 16 years old. I have two brothers and a sister, and as the eldest, I take on a lot of responsibility for them, especially when my parents are not home. I believe this has helped me develop a strong sense of responsibility and care for others. Thank you for considering me as a part of your household; I am truly excited to join your family and experience life in the United States. Aviation has been my passion for as long as I can remember. The moment I first saw a plane, I knew I was hooked. I love everything about planes—how they work, how they fly, and how they look. Over the years, I’ve built a collection of 1:400 scale aircraft models. At my last count, I had 68 models, each made from diecast metal. To complement this collection, I enjoy building model airports and dioramas. I’m also a member of an online aviation community where I’ve met some of my best friends. This past summer, I even had the chance to meet some of them in London, which was an amazing experience. In addition to my love for aviation, I’m passionate about sports and creative pursuits. My favorite sport is skiing. Unfortunately, I don’t live near any slopes, but I ski in Europe every year or two, usually in Switzerland. I’ve also explored tennis, swimming, and horseback riding. Riding has been a part of my life since I was six years old. While I no longer ride competitively, I still enjoy it as a hobby on weekends at our family farm, where we have horse stables. Another interest of mine is videography. I’ve gained work experience filming and editing videos for clubs, educational institutions, and charities under signed contracts. I also enjoy making videos for fun, whether for myself or my family. I even have my own YouTube channel where I share some of my work. This hobby has taught me valuable technical skills and helped me express my creativity. I’m excited about the opportunity to live in the U.S. and immerse myself in a new culture. I look forward to trying new activities, meeting new people, and experiencing American family life. Traveling has always been a big part of my life, and I enjoy visiting unique places whether it’s the countryside, with its mountains and small villages, or vibrant cities like London, Los Angeles, Florence, and Doha. While I love exploring cities, the serenity and beauty of the countryside hold a special place in my heart. As for my future aspirations, I am considering studying aviation engineering, business, or architecture, or perhaps becoming a pilot. My love for aviation is the main reason I’m leaning toward a career in the field, but architecture also interests me, as it’s a path my grandfather followed. Additionally, I have an entrepreneurial spirit; since 2022, I’ve run a seasonal business with a friend, selling summer accessories. This experience has taught me the basics of business and teamwork. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to spend time with your family. I hope to learn about your traditions, share my own, and create lifelong memories together.
