Dear future host family, First of all, I would like to say a huge thank you for giving me the opportunity to live with you for a whole year and I am extremely grateful for that. I am Luca and I come from Germany and live in a suburb of a big city. We have lots of lakes, canals, beautiful nature and nice people here. We have many sports clubs like tennis, soccer, badminton and rowing. What I decided to do at a young age is tennis here at the club. Growing up my parents brought me close to boards. Sounds weird but I did like every board sport existing, like skate and long boarding, wakeboarding, snowboarding, surfing, kiteboarding etc. And i must say i really love it and still do everything. Here in Germany I go to a so-called Gymnasium, which is like a high school in the USA. My favorite subjects are PE, English and geography. I would also like to choose these subjects in the USA. I would also like to join a tennis club to continue my passion for this sport, if possible. My school has around 1000 students and 80 teachers, which is a lot for German standards. After school, I really enjoy meeting up with friends. We play tennis, volleyball, go shopping or just go into town. I generally do a lot of sport and am very open to new things.I also love cooking and baking. I'm not on a diet and I eat almost everything. I am looking forward trying new food and new recipes. We could also cook German food together so you can taste German culture and cuisine. Next I would like to tell you something about my family. My parents have been separated since I was little. They both have a new partner now and I get along very well with both of them. I am very active with both parts of my family, we go on a lot of vacations and trips. I've traveled the world a lot and love getting to know other cultures and countries. And then there are my grandparents. Just like my parents and do get along itch all of them so good it couldn’t be better. I also do have an older brother. He is 20 now and we spent much time together. I've also had lots of pets, such as dogs, mice and birds. I love animals very much and get on really well with them. When someone asks about myself i always say I’m a very happy person. I am very active, communicative, I talk a lot and bring joy with me. But I do need some me time too. When things come up that I didn't expect, I try to handle them well and keep the situation under control. I really want to go to the USA because I have been there a few times and it has always been a dream for me to live there. I would like to go to a typical American high school and make new friends there. I hope to have one of the best times of my life. I want to learn as much as I can about the country, see as much as I can and make new contacts. I really want to spend quality time with you as my host family and just have fun and a wonderful time. I hope I can become a part of your family and not just remain the exchange student. I want to grow beyond myself and discover a new part of myself. With this experience, I want to improve my English even more and learn some lessons for life. I can pursue my passion for getting to know new countries and cultures and discover the world.
