As the first point of contact for our students, host families and high schools, the Community Representative (CR) is truly the anchor that holds our AYUSA exchange communities in place. A CR receives complete training and ongoing support. Be prepared to learn more than you ever imagined, about countries you may only have dreamed about, when you become the exchange expert in your community!
By developing and maintaining personalized, professional relationships with your local high schools, you will create confidence in the AYUSA program and in you, the local administrator.
Recruiting and interviewing prospective host families is one of your most important and fulfilling responsibilities. AYUSA offers many creative suggestions for finding quality families in your community. There is strong enthusiasm for our program everywhere!
Conducting host family and student orientations is fun and informative for everyone. Learn new skills in public speaking and teaching.
Enjoy monthly visits with your students and host families. Every relationship offers a unique opportunity for friendship and cross-cultural enrichment. Your international family grows year after year as you nurture students from over 50 different countries.
Provide assistance and support to students, host families and schools throughout the length of the AYUSA program. Complete quarterly progress reports on each student. Draw from your natural people skills, assisting and counseling, whenever needed.
Devote A Few Hours Of Your Week
-- Earn Extra Income!
AYUSA offers Community Representatives payment for every student and host family they choose to work with. It is not unusual for most CRs to continue employment in other full or part-time careers while devoting a few hours, weekly, to our program.
AYUSA Needs Your Energy And Enthusiasm!
A Regional Director in or near your community looks forward to bringing you aboard as a valued member of our team. When you become an AYUSA Community Representative, you will receive thorough training, and ongoing support in your work. AYUSA maintains a high standard of professionalism in every community we serve, and we know your energy and enthusiasm will further reflect our commitment to program excellence. Please join us in making a world of difference, one friendship at a time.
