's Letter

Dear Host Family Hello. My name is Ryoga and I’m from Japan. Thank you for accepting me as your host family. The reasons I decided to study abroad are I like English and America. I am not good at English yet, so through this study abroad program, I would like to talk to native speakers, experience American culture, and become able to speak English. I would like to have experience as much as I can. For example, I live in a city in Japan and do not have many chances to feel nature, so I would like to experience the majestic nature of America. In addition, I would like to participate in a volunteer. I would like to energetically try things that I can not do in Japan. I am really looking forward to staying in America and with you. During this study abroad program, I would like to actively communicate with you, participate in cultural exchange, and cherish the time we spend together. Among them, I would like to actively do housework. I am good with my hands so if you teach me, I think I can do a lot of housework. I take care of my pets and clean the bathroom at home. I can also do laundry. I like cooking, so I would like to cook many meals for you. For example, I can cook various dishes by looking at recipes, such as Italian, French, and Japanese food. And if possible, I would like to share my hobbies and have fun together. My hobby is watching baseball. I was so moved by watching WBC, and I fell in love with baseball. Now, I play baseball with my friends every week. I’m good at hitting. I can also throw a heavy ball. I ‘m looking forward to playing baseball with you. My favorite baseball team is the Baltimore Orioles. What is your favorite team? I would like to talk a lot about baseball with you! As I mentioned earlier, I love cooking. I also love eating. So, I’m looking forward to cooking for you and eating your dishes. Please let me know your favorite dish. But I think I should be careful not to eat too much delicious American food. I love animals. I have two cats at home. They are so cute. I love most animals. Among them, I love big dogs and cats. if you have a dog, I would like to go for a walk with your dog. That is one of my dreams! I would like to share many hobbies with you and have new interests. At school, I would like to talk to many different people my age and make many friends. I have never had an opportunity to listen to someone my age speak English. I’m nervous until I get used to it, but I would like to try my best. I would like to learn many things at school. As for club activities, I would like to play American football. I currently play rugby at my Japanese school, but I have never played American football. I read an American football comic and got interested in it, so I would try it. However, I think my physical strength is inferior compared to American football players, so I would like to work hard on muscle training. I also really like music. I listen to a variety of songs, including Japanese songs and English songs. My favorite singer is Dua Lipa and Bruno Mars. I will do my best to speak English and be able to sing well and cool. I have learned piano, so I can play it. My family is my mother, grandmother, and two cats. I respect my mother because she can do many household chores very fast. Also, my mother is very kind and a good person to talk to, so I am very grateful to her. My grandmother talks to me often and is very kind. The two cats are named “Hachi” and “Nana”. Both are very cute. I would like to become a doctor who can help many people. Therefore, I would like to develop my ability to care for people and my communication skills through this study abroad program. To achieve this, I would like to new things without hesitation. Thank you very much for accepting me as your host family. Through this study abroad, I would like to try and experience many new things and cultures. I am looking forward to going to study abroad and meet you. Sincerely, Ryoga
