Dear host family, Thank you so much for being willing to participate in the exchange program and accepting me to live with your family. My name is Maddie and I’m a French girl. I’m a girl who likes discovering new things and who wants to explore the world. I want to realize my dream, which is to study and live an experience like an American teenager. I want to learn more about American culture and share your life. To introduce myself, I enjoy doing sports, especially figure skating and snowboard but I also like to try different sports. I do Ice Skating 3 times a week and I love it because it makes me forget about everything. Every year, I can't wait to go skiing. I just love the feeling of doing sport and discovering new activities. I’m a pretty shy person at first but I also love to meet people. I love to travel the world, to discover new places and to discover the culture of different countries. Moreover I love to take pictures of my travels or the activities I do to keep memories. Always ready to go out, I’m a person who loves to do things with my family and with my friends such as dinner or fun activities like cinema, restaurants, bowling, picnic and more basic things like watching a movie with family, taking a walk or playing board games. I also like cooking, especially for making cakes or desserts and above all Christmas baking while watching a Christmas movie. In terms of food, I eat pretty different things at home. My mom likes to cook different dishes but I don't like to eat meat very much. I’m a girl who loves Starbuck and brunch on Sunday Morning. I like to share moments with other people to discover and help others discover things but I also like to have moments alone sometimes. I really like to celebrate traditional events such as Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving because I love to spend these moments with my family and friends and I would like to celebrate this with you. I’m a girl who loves to go to the beach to see the sunset and spend my day sunbathing and swimming but I also love to play in the snow and skate on frozen lakes. I would like to attend high school and live in the U.S. with an American Family to discover the life of an American Student, the lifestyle and be immersed in the culture of the country. I would love to discover how Americans celebrate traditional events like Christmas or Thanksgiving. I would like to move in the country to discover different places during weekends or vacations. I think I could bring some things about French culture to you such as teaching you to cook some french recipes because I like to share this kind of moment. I think going to the U.S. could be a good opportunity for me who wants to discover a new lifestyle. I also love English and this experience would help me to improve myself further and be fluent one day. Also, I would like to be in a close family to share very warm moments. According to me, family is important and I wish that if you choose me, we could share daily moments together like meals, and some activities. At home, my dad works in web design and my mom is an accountant. My brother is 2 years older than me and he no longer lives with us because he studies sports at a university far away from home. We all like to travel and spend family time. I also have a cat at home named Onza. We lived for over 7 years in Quebec and it was an amazing experience for all of us. We are a close family and I hope to become a part of your family as well. I love to spend time with my friends and my family and I’m very close with them and I would like to find a similar relationship with my host family. I’m in highschool in France where I learn English and Spanish, I would love to take part in a club or in a group of activities but it does not exist so I am interested in trying new things and joining school clubs in my High school in the U.S. At school, I spend my breaks with my friends and I love going out to see my friends who are not at my school on the weekend. My favorite classes at school are English, Maths and geography. I don’t really have an idea yet of my future in terms of studies and career but I’m pretty sure that I will study or work abroad when I will be older and English will help me a lot.
